Hello:) . My name is Lisa and I’m a Decor Coach! What is a Decor Coach? A Decor Coach is someone that guides you through a space re-design or a complete renovation. When you work with me you are in the driver’s seat, and you have me a guide and support along the way. Also, with me as your decor coach, the timeline, decision making, and what you spend is all up to you. When we work together, I focus on ideas and direction that fits into your budget, and believe me, all of my clients want to save money, and there is no shame in that! how do I work with my clients
I have a specific process that I follow with clients, and I want you to see that up front. I want you to be comfortable working together, knowing that you’re getting the best service from me that I can possibly give. Your happiness is my top priority. The first step in the process is a phone call. I like to get on the phone with you and get to know you first. We will talk about what you are looking for in regards to your home design and decor. To schedule a phone consult (which is completely free) just click HERE.
After our phone consult, and if you want to move forward in our ‘design-ship’, I will come to your home for an hour to talk about everything you would like to do. We will explore how you want your space to feel and function, as well as dive into what you think you want the space to look like. We’ll talk about your design style, what stores you like to shop in, what colors you gravitate to, and more. We will go through the space and talk specifics about what you want to change in regards to layout, furniture, paint colors, wall treatments, windows, artwork, lighting, flooring, and accessories. I follow up with the session with an email summary of what we discussed, including links to any shopping resources.
Before I visit your home, I will invoice you my consult fee, which is $225. After the consult, if you feel like you have all that you need, you just let me know and you can take my ideas and put them into action. BUT, if you want to move forward and have me create floor plans, wall elevations, create mood boards and provide detailed shopping lists, then I put half of the one our consult fee towards the fee for my services.
Before I dive into floor planning and mood board styling, I will make sure that we have a distinct design direction, action plan, and guidelines on what you want to spend on your purchases (so I don’t recommend something not within your budget). This will be done for each room if there is more than one. For the design direction, you will create a Pinterest board for me, and from that board we will discuss what you like about them what parts of them you would like to incorporate into your space. We will also make a list of everything you want me to do for you in the space. When we have agreement on that, I will create a project scope contract, including the cost to create the design package, so that we have everything in writing. Know what the plan is makes a project run much more smoothly!
After we have agreed on project scope, I will create at least two floor plans for your space. I will also create two mood boards so you can see how various pieces of furniture and decor look together. I will also create wall layouts for key walls in the space showing where to put wall art (and what size), shelving, etc. After I present your floor plan and mood board options to you, you will take time to ponder over them and let me know which floor plan you want to move forward with, and what mood board options you like. Once this phase is complete and agreed on, I will then put shopping suggestions together.
After you have chosen the floor plan that works best for you, and you have communicated the design elements you like best in the mood boards, I will get started on putting your suggested shopping list together. In that list I will provide product suggestions that work within the spaces in the floor plan and match the aesthetic in the mood board. I will provide links to all products. When doing so, I try to source locally if possible and of course I will stay within your budget. If you have favorite stores, I will also include products from those.
Upon completion of the floor plan, wall elevations, mood board, and product suggestions, I will deliver your final package. I use Dropbox Paper, which is an online tool for presenting all of the information in one spot. You will have a link to this package and it will be easy to access at any time. I will also send you a PDF file of the package so you have that too.
