My Favorite Things…Episode One
Hello there and happy Sunday! In these unusual times amid the Covid-19 pandemic, I’m trying to keep it on the bright side by keeping creative and spending times outdoors. I’m also taking appreciation of the simple things in my life. My goal right now, is to share stuff that I think will simply make you happy. So here are some of my favorite things that I want to share with you. Note that none of these items are promoted (ie. I’m not getting paid at all if you decide to buy anything). I just want to share things that make me, and hopefully you, happy. Taking Care of Yourself: One thing I focus on is taking care of my skin, as I do not want to grow old gracefully! In these days at home, it’s a great time to change up your skin care regimen. On top of the two products below, be sure to drink a lot of water! To keep my pores clean and as small as possible, I use an Indian Healing Clay mask. When I use this, my skin feels so smooth! And its ON SALE right now for $4.72!! I also like a good moisturizer. One thing I use to keep my skin healthy is the La Roche-Posay Redermic Vitamin C lotion. I use more product from this brand and they are great.
MorningCoffee: One thing I didn’t have to give up in the crazy time, is my morning coffee. I always made my coffee at home on my french press. You can get a french press pretty much anywhere, but this is the one I have. I love the gold trim on it. If you don’t know how to make coffee in a french press, learn how via my Instagram Story. Go to my Instagram Profile and click on the story highlight called “coffee” for instructions. It’s so easy.
A Fresh Salad for Lunch or Dinner: One easy meal that my family loves is a fresh salad inspired by our vacation to Spain this past summer. The salad is so easy to make and I love taking out my vintage Japanese salad serving utensils. I found mine at a yard sale for a few dollars (score!!), but I found the same ones on Chairish, a favorite vintage site for finding great treasures. To make the salad: In a large bowl, place in a bag of romaine lettuce, sliced cucumber, olives, the small mozzarella balls, a bit of canned corn (just sprinkle a little bit on there), and tomatoes. Then add a can of tuna that is packed in olive oil (do not drain). Toss it all together an then add more olive oil and kosher salt to taste. Give it a toss and you have dinner!
Sitting Back and Relaxing: In the evenings, I like to get cozy. Something you always find on me are my L.L. Bean Wicked Good Moccasins. I actually wear then whenever I’m at home, which right now is all the time. After I’m in my pjs and slippers, and usually holding a cup of tea or glass of wine, I’ve been digging into the current book I’m reading, “The Universe Has Your Back” by Gabrielle Bernstein. It’s a perfect read for these trying times in our world. I highly suggest this book if you have not read it already.
I hope you get a chance to give some of these a try! I’m keeping a list of my favorite things and I look forward to sharing more soon! Cheers and Keep Safe and Healthy,
