Jane and Sam, along with their two children, moved to Andover, Massachusetts from the UK a couple of years ago. They are a fun family with a lot of personality and I loved helping Jane with ideas for her family room. Jane was one of my very first Decor Coaching clients, and she is also a friend. When they first moved here, they rented a home, and they really couldn’t do much to make the home their own, but when they purchased a home, not to far up the road, Jane jumped right into making her home a space that she loved to walk into every day!
When they first moved into the home, the living room needed some cosmetic work, but otherwise it was in great shape, especially the floors. One thing Jane immediately wanted to get rid of was the blue on the bottom of the wall. She loved the fireplace, and wanted a cozy sitting area by that, and she wanted to make sure the room was cheery, comfy and welcoming.
After getting all of Jane’s feedback, I went to work on creating a mood board and product suggestions for her space. Now, when I give a client a Decor Coaching package, it’s a guideline for them. I provide direction and ideas, but ultimately, the homeowner decides what goes into the space, and with a plan in hand, they can work to their own timeline and budget. Here is the mood board that was created for Jane.
After Jane was finished with the space, I loved how it came out. She drew from the ideas I gave her, but also added in her own ideas too. Enjoy the after photos! Scroll below them for some product resources. Cheers!
