Hey there Anita! Here is the mood board, shopping links and floor plan for your Modern Surf Inspired living room. I chose items to create a serene and refined surf inspired space. I hope you love it!
THE MOOD BOARD
NOTE #1: When ready, if you need help choosing the exact couch, let me know! The one in the board below is from Interior Define, but Rowe Furniture has a similar style and they carry the indestructible, Krypton branded, fabric! Interior Define also has family and pet friendly fabrics.
Note #2: The large black and white surf image can be printed any size. I got it from a web site where I upload images for others to use, but I can use theirs.
Note #3: The surfboard is just a placeholder. Not sure what style you have:)
Note #4: The credenza is on Craigslist. There are so many great ones on there and I can help you source one!
Note #5: The “Pray for Surf” wall art is a fabric banner. You can create this as a fun family project or I can design it up for you and have it custom printed right on the fabric. Just let me know how I can help!

THE FLOOR PLAN
Note #1: Shiplap for either side of the fireplace and the wall behind the credenza will be about $540 in materials.
Note #2: Laminate Wood flooring will range somewhere between $3,500 and $5,000 if you stick with a price of $5-$7 per square foot. You need to add installation to that if you are not doing it yourself.
Note #3: I have a local resource for custom made wood shelves. His name is Bruce Martin and he is located in Lawrence. His company is called Rustic ReUse.
Note #4: Paint colors are in the mood board. I have a Navy Blue on there. If you want one darker colored wall, I’d paint the one facing the front of the house the navy and all others the white. As for the trim, I always go with Benjamin Moore White Dove.
Here is a wall elevation of the wall where the credenza would go. The navy walls would look great flanking the white shiplap wall. This gives a nice crisp look. The mirror softens the space, and the plant in the corner adds just enough green! A vintage mid century credenza would look fantastic here, plus it’s great storage for games, blankets, etc.
This wall elevation is the wall facing the driveway. Being that it is a large wall, this one can be painted the navy for some depth. If this wall is navy, you could keep the wall facing the front of the house white, or paint both navy. You can’t go wrong either way.
It has been so great working with you. Remember, if you have any questions about any of this, email, text or call. Also, if you are open to it, I’d love to come take some photos of the finished space.
